A total of 36 individual policy changes or requests for project-specific support have been made to state and federal governments during the Covid-19 crisis by lobbying groups for the fossil fuel industry.
As at 7 May 2020, 69 per cent of the proposals had either been enacted or won favourable comment from ministers.
The coalition government hasn’t yet said whether they will support the recommendations of the Covid-19 Commission, which was founded to advise the government on how to respond to the social and economic impacts of the pandemic.
