On March 20, the Bushfire Survivors for Climate Action had a one-page letter to the Big Four banks published in the Australian Financial Review. It called on the banks to stop funding fossil fuel companies, and to set dates by which their exposure to those industries would reach zero.
Westpac is currently updating its climate policies. Market Forces is asking that we download and print a copy of the Bushfire Survivors’ letter and mail it to Westpac, who have invested a massive $5.4 billion in coal, oil and gas projects since the Paris Agreement on climate change was signed.
