Support the Australian Conservation Foundation in its court action against the Morrison Government over its assessment of Adani’s North Galilee Water Scheme.
One by one, current and potential contractors have been pushed to stop or rule out working with Adani. Each small victory in its own right did not stop Adani, but together they have added up to slow it down.
Now the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) is taking the Morrison Government to court in an action that could help keep the coal in the Galilee Basin in the ground forever.
In December 2019, in spite of the advice of the government’s own experts, the federal government decided that Adani’s water pipeline did not need to be assessed under the ‘water trigger’ in the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
The ACF believes this decision is illegal. It is taking the government to court and is appealing for support from Australian citizens to fund this action.
