In October, one of our actions targeted our banks, a number of which are making a significant contribution towards climate change by investing in new fossil fuel projects that will make it impossible for the Paris Agreement target of 2 degrees to be met.
This action was made possible through the work of the organisation Market Forces, which has been successful in helping 90,000 ordinary Australians to check on their own banks and make informed choices about where their money would be invested.
So successful have they been that Scott Morrison recently singled them out as the target of the government’s push to stop environmental campaigns that advocate boycotts of fossil-fuel companies.
This week’s action is to read this article, talk about it to two of your friends, and encourage them to look at it and check out marketforces.org.au for themselves.
